Photos and cloud storage

We have around 8000 lines in our range.  Even if we use all 500MB of the cloud storage (which isnt possible as some is used for data) that is an average file size of 6kb.  If my understanding is correct then we will not be able to have images of any quality or use.  Can we have more storage space?

Re: Photos and cloud storage

This is incorrect. Using 500MB for storing 8,000 images would allow you an average image size of 64KB. You're working with JPG images and a 64KB file size still gives a larger resolution image than is necessary for use with Sales Presenter.

I would anticipate an average file size of 30KB being more realistic. Allowing for, say 50MB of storage for your data (you're currently using just over 9MB) you should still have enough storage space for approximately 15,000 images.

Please see the following topic for more information on ideal image resolutions:

Re: Photos and cloud storage

We have just implemented a change to the way that we calculate the cloud storage usage for images to the benefit of users.

Since uploaded images with a resolution higher than 768x768 are automatically resized before they are downloaded to an iPad, the storage usage calculation now works with the size of the resized image rather than the originally uploaded image.

The "Manage Images" page of your cloud account now shows both the original and resized image file sizes.

In your situation you currently have uploaded approx 334MB of images. After resizing, this now counts as just 53.4MB towards your storage usage. You will notice your usage figure has dropped accordingly on your cloud home page.

It looks like you've set a default value of - for any field mappings that you're not using. If you're not using a particular field mapping and don't have a specific default value that you want to use you should leave these default values blank.

In the case of the mapping of the PhotoRef field the product file mapping, you are in effect telling the iPad to use an image file named -.jpg for every product instead of an image file based on the product code.

Please follow the steps below:

1. Remove all the default values that are dashes from the field mappings on all types of file (customers, products, catalogues etc...).
2. Perform a Process Files on your cloud account and wait for it to finish.
3. Perform a Download from Cloud in Sales Presenter.

Your product images should then appear.

Re: Photos and cloud storage

Apps that you purchase from the App Store via your iTunes account can be installed on any compatible devices using that same iTunes account.

If using Apple's iCloud feature with your iPads we would recommend you use separate iTunes accounts for each of your iPads running Sales Presenter otherwise iCloud will attempt to keep your iPads synchronised with each other (potentially overwriting the Sales Presenter data on one iPad with the data from the other).
