csv files

just working way through initial set up. have printed off 'getting started with your data' so am trying to work in tandem with this.
have downloaded CSV templates and have gone for locations and reps (easiest as we only have two), and entered details.
when saving file i get message 'locations.csv may contain features not compatible with CSV (comma delimited) and offers a couple of options - save but leave out incompatible items, or save in latest XL format to preserve features.
any ideas???

Re: csv files

This is just a generic warning by Excel to let you know that saving your document as a CSV file would lose any formatting or formulas that may be present in a spreadsheet (in this instance there won't be any).

Simply click Yes to save your CSV file.

Re: csv files

Make sure that the filename you've specified in the file mappings screen against the rep data file matches exactly with the name of your CSV file.

For example, if your file is reps.csv then you need to specify reps.csv in the file mapping screen.

Please note: if you're a Windows user then Windows is sometimes configured to hide file extensions. Therefore, the filename may appear as just reps in Windows, but it is actually reps.csv.

We're not aware of any methods for exporting contacts from the Apple iCloud.

Re: csv files

Our Getting Started With Your Data guide, available in the Downloads section of this site, is a "must read" as there are a number of steps that must be followed (in sequence) in order to prepare your data before downloading onto your iPad.
