Product Families

Have set up our products to match our paper price list and catalogue sequence.
Is there anyway I can go back/forward to next category? (As I can with product screen within category)
Hitting the back button takes me out to main screen, using the blue category butoon (below Back) takes me back to beginning of catalogue, so if in category #30 takes me back to #1-so have to scroll forward to find #31?

Re: Product Families

The five family code buttons are intended to be used to filter the current selection of products (either within a catalogue or across all catalogues), rather than for navigating through a catalogue (which would be done by either swiping left/right across the screen or tapping the bottom left/right corners of the screen).

Re: Product Families

Is there anyway round this-can we set up catgories in different way?
Cannot see our sales people switching form paper presentaions if they have to scroll through all categories.
Either swiping through categories or reverting to current category would be ok

Re: Product Families

We've investigated this today and are able to make the family code and catalogue lists automatically revert to the current selection when they're being re-displayed.

This allows you to easily identify the current entry and select the next or previous entry from the list, as required, without having to scroll through the list. However, this does mean that for long lists you may need to scroll back to the top of the list in order to be able to reset an individual filter.

We'll include this change in the next update that we'll be submitting to Apple (unfortunately it's too late to be included the currently pending update, version 1.1.5).

Re: Product Families

when a customer is viewing a catalogue, the display sometimes switches from portrait to landscape mode, especially when moving the iPad around.
the catalogue automatically reverts to page 1 when this happens.
is there a way around this?

Re: Product Families

when entering the product details in a CSV format, we have entered the barcodes to display on the order that we email to our clients. however, upon saving the data, the barcode has reverted to 5.01E +12, instead of the 13 digit barcode.
I have checked around but there doesn't seem to be a simple solution for this.
Any hints or ideas?

Re: Product Families

Yes, In Excel Select the Column and select format cells . Number: Category, SELECT "Text"

You will have to do this each time you open a CSV in excel

That feels like a bug. Best if you post in a new thread so they can fix it. Personally I have mine set on rotation lock.

When we created Sales Presenter it was easier to simply reset all the catalogue position tracking logic when rotating the device (since both the number of pages and number of products per page get altered). We will address this as part of the exciting catalogue related enhancements that we've got coming up.

We tend to have our iPads set on rotation lock too.
