Is there any way to set the Country as a "required filed" when creating a new Customer?

You can configure the required fields under Configuration > Field Sizes on the Cloud. Country is not a field that you can set as required however, you could utilise any of the userfields for this.

Yes, thanks a lot. I was aware of the procedure but I was wandering why almost all field of the address could be set as "required" with the exception of "Country". It just did not make any sense to me.
