Prolonged Download Time

Hi

One of our users is regularly experiencing download times in excess of 50 minutes.  Other users have times of sub 5 minutes.  It's almost as though every download is a Full Download.  Is there some way of investigating this?
Thanks
Simon

Re: Prolonged Download Time

The duration of download speeds relies on multiple variants (amount of data, download speed, device type etc.). Please ensure the user is not performing a Force a Full Download each time and just performs a Download from Cloud.

Re: Prolonged Download Time

Hi - That was the point I was trying to make - "It's almost as though every download is a Full Download". (but they're not)
The user is mainly using their home WiFi to perform the download, but it is consistently taking 10x as long for this one user as it does for other users on the account.  Thanks, Simon

Re: Prolonged Download Time

Downloads in SalesPresenter are normally incremental, meaning it will transfer only the information that has changed on the cloud account since the last time the device performed a download. In order to do this, SalesPresenter takes timestamps whenever the user performs a download. If the user is experiencing an issue where all of the data is downloaded to the device every time, it may mean that the device is failing to save the timestamps correctly.

Are you able to get the user to check their date/time settings for anything that may be causing an issue? Such things to check are that the date and time is set automatically in the Settings of the device, the correct timezone is applied for the location of the user, and also that the clock is set to 24 hour time mode (some versions of iOS can have issues when set to a 12 hour clock).

If the user needs to make any changes to the settings then the download time will hopefully return to normal after the next download.

Please let us know whether this has helped or not so that we can investigate further into what might have caused this.

Hi.  Many thanks for your reply.  I'll pass these suggestions on to the user and let you know how he gets on.  Thanks, Simon.
