image variation

Hi administrator,

If we have more than one picture for a single product, on the product CSV file , in the  photoref column , how should we include all the names of those image variations in order for the image variation to show ?

Looking forward to your reply. Thanks

Re: image variation

There are multiple ways to achieve more than one image for a single product.

The first option is to utilise the following option found in the General section of your cloud configuration:

Sales Presenter displays images for a product based on the product code (e.g. if you have the product PROD1 then Sales Presenter will assume you have uploaded an image file such as PROD1.JPG or PROD1.PNG to your cloud account).

When displaying additional images for a product, Sales Presenter will look for images whose filename starts with the product code (e.g. PROD1A.JPG and PROD1B.JPG would both be regarded as additional images for product PROD1). The only issue with this is if you were to also have a product such as PROD11. Sales Presenter would regard PROD11.JPG as an additional image for product PROD1.

You can specify a separator (such as a dash or underscore) that you are using in your image filenames to get round this issue. Therefore, you could specify a "dash" separator and name your additional images PROD1-A.JPG and PROD1-B.JPG instead. In this instance, PROD11.JPG wouldn't be regarded as an additional image for product PROD1.

You currently have this configuration set to an underscore.

The second option can also be found in the General section of your cloud configuration:

The PhotoRef field on the product file can contain the name of more than one image. You can specify here the delimiter that you are using in this field to separate the image names. This delimiter can also used with the DocumentRef, MovieRef and AudioRef fields.

You currently have this configuration set to a semi-colon.

Re: image variation

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.  However,  I tried both ways , neither of them is working.

If my understanding is correct, the first option means as long as I name the pictures correctly following the rule,  even if I don't put anything in the PhotoRef column , sales presenter can still find the right images by recognizing the names and match them to the same product code.  However, this is not our case.

I tried the second option, put the image names into the photoref. column using semi-colon to separate the photo names. However, none of the photo can display in this case/.

We urgently need this to be sorted , please help to identify the problem  . Thanks.

Re: image variation

The issue is more to do with the names of the image files that you've uploaded to the cloud.

If you take a look on the File Management -> Manage Images screen in your cloud account you'll see the names of the images that you've uploaded to your account. These appear to have ".jpg" in them twice.

We recommend that you delete these images from the cloud, rename the original image files and upload them again.
