Clearance Prices - display (was) now

I have added clearance prices to product file and correctly mapped. These products are now in a clearance catalogue and prices shown in the product detail screen. On one of the General Configuration menu there is an option to use a $WAS$ /NOW$ function to display the Standard Price and the Clearance Price in the product thumbnail. Have I interpreted the functionality correctly? If I have, I can't get it to work - have a missed something. I have tried the "don't consider clearance price" and "consider clearance price" options in the Order Entry configuration but these only control whether either the clearance price or the standard price is displayed on the thumbnail and used as a default value when entering an order line for the product.

Re: Clearance Prices - display (was) now

You need to configure (via the Configuration->Product Browser section of your cloud account) one of the fields on the product thumbnail to show the clearance price. This field will only physically appear on the thumbnail if there is a clearance price for the product, and you can customise its appearance using the clearance price text configuration option (the one allowing you to use $WAS$ and $NOW$).

The option which tells the system whether or not to consider showing a clearance price (or last price) in preference to the standard price is unrelated to the above. This just determines which actual price is shown when you've configured one of the fields on the thumbnail to show the standard price.

Re: Clearance Prices - display (was) now

Sorted thank you - never thought to look at Product Browser.

However, is it possible to extend the functionality of the  content of the clearance text field in General Configuration menu. For example Offer %WAS% %User Field 4%? Is there a database table schema that shows the fields that could be used? Could I use text entered in User Field 4 of the item table?

Re: Clearance Prices - display (was) now

The $WAS$ field will always pick up the standard price.

There is, however, nothing stopping you from simply maintaining one of the user fields in your Products CSV file so that it contains information such as 'Was 2.00 Now 1.00'. You could then configure that user field to show on the thumbnail (via the Configuration -> Product Browser section of your cloud account) rather than using the configuration to work it out for you.

Re: Clearance Prices - display (was) now

is there an equivalent of the $WAS$ field that could lookup the UserField4 from the item table? For example $USERFIELD4$. I can then add this field to the clearance text field in the General Configuration menu. This way the text in Userfield4 is only displayed if there is a clearance price for the item

Re: Clearance Prices - display (was) now

No, there are only two fields available for this configuration -  $WAS$ which equates to the standard price, and $NOW$ which equates to the clearance price.

As mentioned in our previous post, if you put the wording as you would like it to appear into one of the product user fields, you could configure that to be shown on the product thumbnails. It will only appear for products where you have populated the relevant user field in the file, so we would advise only populating the user field if the product contains a clearance price.

Re: Clearance Prices - display (was) now

That makes sense - I'll look at the data map in Userfield4 and amend my data extract accordingly - thank you
