Retaining Bookmarks

Hi
One of our sales team has mentioned that when visiting a customer, he will pre-bookmark a range of products.
When going through this range with the customer, if he starts to place an order for a product, then temporarily reduces the quantity to zero, that product then loses the bookmark.  Is there any way to avoid this?

Bookmarked products are retained for a customer until such time as the bookmark is removed by the user or the item is placed on order. Bookmarks will not be reinstated if the product is subsequently taken off of the order.
