Exporting customer order data from the cloud

Hi, would it be possible to alter the csv export feature that we are now paying for, to allow all customer oder data fields to be encased in quotation marks ?

Currently quotation marks are only used when a comma has been typed into a particular field by the user when taking an order for a new customer. It would be far easier to develop import routines into a back office system that can easily parse the data if all data fields are encased with quotation marks regardless of the use of commas inside the data field.

This would ensure greater consistency when downloading the customer orders from the cloud before processing them and importing into the back office system.

Please can you acknowledge this request and provide a timescale for the improvement.

Regards,

Craig.

Re: Exporting customer order data from the cloud

When working with the CSV format, the order export feature on our cloud system uses the commonly regarded standard where fields containing either double-quotes or the delimiter (a comma by default, but this can be reconfigured in your cloud account) are encased in double quotes and any embedded double-quotes are translated to double-quote double-quote.

If you are developing a new order import routine for your back office system then we recommend working with the XML format instead.
