One of our sites have a new rep and when trying to set up a new customer on the ipad mini the i next to currency is greyed out.
I have checked the cloud and the currency file is there and mapped correctly, however if I look at the Database information on the ipad it has a 0 beside Currencies and also a 0 beside Price list but those files are up on the cloud?
Am I missing something?

Has a comprehensive pricing cloud module been applied to the device? You can see this information in the Registered Devices section on the home page of your cloud account.

Yes it has all three of the extra modules marked as 'yes'

It sounds like the user didn't perform a Force a Full Download on the device after the comprehensive pricing cloud module was activated. Doing this now should fix your problem.
