I have against family code 2 a code called ZURICHCURT but this dosen't appear in the drop down list.
If i search fro the product which i know are in this group they are on the system. What am i doing wrong? Should I remove all the faimilcodes from the product and use the "product family codes" process in stead?

ZURICHCURT doesn't appear in the column in your product CSV file that you've mapped to the FamilyCode2 field.
It appears in a column "Quality_" but family code 2 is mapped to the column "Quality_Des___________________".
Therefore this family code won't appear in the drop down list at all.
Setting up family codes in the product CSV file (as you're doing) is preferable to setting them up in a separate product family codes CSV file.
