Family Codes Sequence

Can you confirm which file determines product group sequence. I have it set in our CATEGORY.CSV file with sequence set 1.2,3,4 etc not to code groups A, B, D, D1, D2 etc.
Having made some changes listiong still shows in original sequence?

Re: Family Codes Sequence

The DisplaySequence field in the familycodes file (CATEGORY.CSV in your instance) controls the sequence in which the family codes are displayed in the popup boxes when you press the various family code buttons.

Re: Family Codes Sequence

That is what I thought but I have changed(eg) group W20 to sequence at 63 but still appears in original (near end) of category tree structure

Re: Family Codes Sequence

I've just taken a look at your data and the W20 group appears just below half-way down the list of "Sub" family codes for me.

Re: Family Codes Sequence

Had not noticed it that way-we go in via main group then to sub where it appears in original position?

Re: Family Codes Sequence

The entries in each of the family code popups will be shown in display sequence within that popup. The sequence isn't influenced by any other family code selections.

Re: Family Codes Sequence

Think you are saying that the sequence overrides any other code sequence-if so cannot see why the sequence is correct in the sub cat view but not when viewing Main then Sub?

Re: Family Codes Sequence

When viewing Main then Sub, the list of family codes that appear in the Sub list will be a sub-set of all the possible Sub codes, based on the FamilyCode2 values for products that also have a FamilyCode1 matching your Main selection. However, the sub-set will be displayed in numerical DisplaySequence order so I'm assuming your family code at sequence 63 has the highest DisplaySequence value within the sub-set being displayed.

Re: Family Codes Sequence

The sub code is now line 66 (novelty erasers) as I have made some recent changes. We have changed from a sub of family "W" to "N" scholastic. I can't see where main-sub groups are set other than this file? I can recode all products in our system to say N60 (from W20) but thought moving up the sequence list was an easier way.

Re: Family Codes Sequence

It's proving a bit difficult to understand exactly what the issue is here.

Ultimately, any family codes displayed in a popover will be shown in numeric DisplaySequence order (as set in your category.csv file) within that popover. This sequence isn't influenced by any other family code selection the user has made.

Re: Family Codes Sequence

If I click the pop up for the main group (scholastic) then view the sub groups the sub group for line 66 (novelty) does not appear

Re: Family Codes Sequence

ok, this is nothing to do with display sequencing.

None of your products that have a FamilyCode1 value of N (Scholastic) have a FamilyCode2 value of W20. Therefore, if you select N from the family code 1 popup then subsequently show the family code 2 popup, the list displayed will not include W20.
