Hi
I understand VAT is calculated on a line by line basis but is there an option/setting to calculate VAT on a total order value instead?
My issue is, when I create an invoice in our invoicing system the VAT calculation is based on the total order value which is a different figure to the one that appears on the customer's Blue Alligator order.
I understand you can change the decimal places but this doesn't appear to help resolve the above.
Thanks,
Amir

There isn't a specific option to calculate VAT based on order value rather than order lines, however using the combination of the following options (all found in the Configuration > Order Entry section of your cloud account) you should be able to achieve it:
- Decimal places for rounding sales tax - For Calculations
- Decimal places for rounding sales tax - For Display Purposes
- Sales Tax Calculation Adjustment
For example, you could set the decimal places for calculations to 6 (making any rounding on the order lines less significant to get a more accurate total figure), then set the decimal places for display purposes to 2. Putting an adjustment of 0.005 or -0.005 would act as a round up/down function on the value shown.
