Product Group Restrictions

Hi
A while ago i added some products to a Group called 23 on products.csv.  I've since added several more products to a group called 9.
I thought i'd set up the exclusions.csv file and the Group/rep exclusions settings in Registered devices in such a way that a rep would only see the products in these groups if they were set up in exclusions.csv.
I've just tested this on my device, saying that I'm the rep for area 22 and excluded me from 9 and 23 products, but i can still see these codes.  Any idea what I've missed?
Many thanks
Regards
Simon

Re: Product Group Restrictions

Looking at your Products CSV file using a word processing application (such as Notepad), you'll see that the product groups for your products are either "00", "09", or "23". Since your Product Group Rep Exclusions CSV file is referencing product groups of "9" and "23", I suspect that only the 4 products that have been set up with product group "23" are actually being excluded from your device as they are the only ones that match. You will be able to see the number of products excluded from your device by looking at how many products have been downloaded and how many of those products are viewable via the Download Manager -> Database Information screen in Sales Presenter.

You will have a similar issue when it comes to excluding product groups for reps "01", "03", "04" and "09" as they are referenced in your Product Group Rep Exclusions CSV file as "1", "3", "4" and "9".

When maintaining CSV files using a spreadsheet application such as Excel, leading zeros can sometimes be automatically removed. This seems to have been the case in your Product Group Rep Exclusions CSV file.

Re: Product Group Restrictions

[Many thanks - That's sorted it now]

Thanks.  I did think that i had considered this (having had similar issues with barcode formatting a long time ago).  I'll check that everything is formatted as it should be and let you know.  Thanks again

Simon
