Re: how to login on ipad for first time

In order to log in to Sales Presenter when you're using your own data you need to ensure that you've uploaded location and rep data files. These will then appear in the login screen.

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

Have you clicked on the "Process Files" button on the cloud homepage? The button is enabled whenever there are data files waiting to be processed (either after you've uploaded some data files that have changed since your last upload or you have changed some field mappings).

This button processes your latest uploaded data files against the field mappings that you have configured, ready for downloading to an iPad.

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

ok I can now see the sales rep and location in the log in screen.  it took me a while to work out that to log in you touch the screen away from the login box.
What made it confusing is that the download manager on the ipad lets you download files whether they are processed or not, so I just downloaded the files and presumed it should work.
can the process files bit be automated?  seems like an unnecessary action for the user, or is there a reason to action it manually?

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

quick questions:

1  for product sales prices - how can I change the decimal places from 4 to 2?   and can i get a '£' sign in front of it?

2  when viewing pictures, once a picture is selected by tapping, can we then continue scrolling through the products but just with one image per page?  and the same once it has been double tapped to enlarge.

3  when browsing to upload pictures, my pc is not letting me select more than one image at a time, how do we upload in batches as we have 3800 photos!

This isn't possible with the current release but we do have plans to make this configurable (as part of our multi-currency development).

puckatordan wrote:

We will add this ability to our development wish list.

To assist with the bulk upload of files, the upload process will also accept compressed files (in the .ZIP format) containing your data and image files. It will automatically uncompress each of the files within the ZIP file and store them in your cloud storage area. The compressed file can contain folders. However, any compressed files embedded within the compressed file being uploaded will be ignored.

last question, if I populate the 'stream1' field in products, is this information ignored by the professional version?

Behind the scenes, the uploaded data files aren't actually downloaded to the iPads. Therefore you are free to upload, re-upload and play around with field mappings without affecting your current set of "live" data that your reps are using.

The "Process files" button has the effect of turning the latest data live.

There are soon to be options to fully automate both the upload of data and images and the processing of files which our sales team will be happy to discuss.

Any prices fields that you populate can be selected by the user during order entry.

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

thanks for the replies, can you just confirm how we bulk upload, are you saying that if they are zip files then it will allow bulk upload? or that you offer this service for a fee.

also, the reason i asked about the 'stream1' field is that I have populated it in the csv but the data doesn't show on the propduct record or when you create an order.   is there something else I need to do?

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

You simply upload zip file(s) containing your images. The upload process will automatically uncompress them before adding them to your cloud storage area. The zip file is then discarded and does not count towards your storage usage.

With regard to stream prices, these are accessible only during order entry. When you are displaying the details for a product you can tap on the arrow button next to the current price to pop up a list of selectable prices.

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

Hi
I did see the arrow button that opens when you select a line during the order process but the only price is 'Std 1.2700' appears.  I have populated the Stream1 field in the csv with a value, uploaded, processed and downloaded.  is there something else that needs to be done?  the only other thing i did was change configuration/pricing text from 'Stream 1' to 'Bulk Price'.
tbc!

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

I've had a look at the field mappings that you've set up for product data and you've only got the following fields mapped so far:

ProductCode
Description
UOM
QtyPerCarton
QtyPerInner
QtyPerPack
StdPrice
MinPrice

You need to set up a field mapping for the stream price, then perform a "Process files".

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

All the price fields are available. Only the standard price, clearance price and RRP are shown on the product detail screen though. All other prices are accessible via the prices pop-up during order entry.

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

ok, can I ask if for any particular reason?  its just that the product details screen is the bit the customer looks at when browsing through the catalogue, so would be helpful to see the clearance/promo prices at this level?

And as I mentioned before the main thing that would be nice would be the ability to flick through large size photos one to a page rather than eight to a page.   The strength of the ipad is its visuals so it makes sense to maximise this potential.

thanks for your help

The clearance price can be seen at this level.

An arbitrary decision was made with regard to which fields were displayed on the product detail page in the initial release of Sales Presenter. This list of fields will become configurable from the cloud account in a future update.

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

hi admin
one more question, the only other thing i need to be able to display in order to make the system useful to my reps is a field for the 'size/dimensions' of the product.  I can't see this column in the products.csv, or a blank field on the ipad.
how can I display this information?
thanks

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

hi admin
can I sneak one last question in?
I want to chnage the word 'clearance' on the product page to 'bulk'.
i have gone to configuration/pricing text and chnaged it, and have updated the page.
I have then done a download, and also forced a full download, but I can't get it to change.
can you tell me what I am doing wrong please.
thanks
simon

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

You're not doing anything wrong. During normal usage you shouldn't need to force a full download. Any configuration changes are always downloaded to the iPad at the start of any download session.

However, as far as the pricing text goes, these only affect the text that is shown next to each price in the price pop-up list and under the entered price during order entry.

We are in the process of making the product detail information work with the configurable text (as well as being able to configure which product fields are actually displayed on the product detail screen) so this will be available in a future update.

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

In the current version (1.0.2) there are no spare fields on the product to display additional information.

As part of the process of making the product detail screen configurable we will be adding a number of "user-defined" text fields that can be uploaded as part of the product data. You will then be able to display these on the product detail screen as desired.

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

could you tell me if the following development is likely to be done on the next update as this is the main thing that one of our agents is saying is a problem:

puckatordan wrote:

We will add this ability to our development wish list.

Re: how to login on ipad for first time

There are no immediate plans to develop this.

We have added it to our development wish list which means that it will be considered, along with all other ideas and requests, when planning future enhancements to the app.
