Version 1.1.4 - currently awaiting Apple approval
This update has some significant enhancements to the order entry process.
After installing this version, you will be forced to use the Download from Cloud option within the app before continuing normal use of the app. This ensures that any new configuration settings in your Blue Alligator cloud account are downloaded to your device.
- The five family code filters on the product browser screen are now context-sensitive. They will only display family codes that are relevant to any existing filtering.
- You can now supply values for the mobile number and five user fields when creating a new customer (the maximum field sizes are configured via your cloud account).
- The format of the order number field on the order acknowledgement can now be configured via your cloud account.
- Out of stock logic has been added to order entry to let you optionally prevent the user from overselling stock for a product. Options are 1) let the user order the quantity (default option), 2) don't let the user order the quantity, or 3) warn the user but let them order the quantity.
- Minimum order quantity logic has been added to order entry to let you optionally prevent the user from ordering less than the minimum quantity specified for a product. Options are 1) let the user order the quantity (default option), 2) don't let the user order the quantity, or 3) warn the user but let them order the quantity.
- Order multiple logic has been added to order entry to let you optionally prevent the user from ordering a quantity outside of a multiple specified for a product. Options are 1) let the user order the quantity (default option), 2) don't let the user order the quantity, or 3) warn the user but let them order the quantity.
- The plus/minus buttons during order entry increment/decrement the order quantity by the current ordering unit. You can now configure these buttons to alter the order quantity by the order multiple specified for a product instead.
- Minimum price logic has been added to order entry to let you optionally prevent the user from entering a selling price less than the minimum price specified for a product. Options are 1) let the user enter any price, 2) Don't let the user enter less than the minimum price, or 3) warn the user but let them enter less than the minimum price.
- The currency code field on price lists has now been implemented. This allows you to work with multi-currency price lists.
- The customer account search feature now includes the contact name, phone number, fax number and mobile number fields in the search. Also, searches are now made across all addresses for an account (previously, only the primary address for an account was searched).
- The sales rep name and database number is now shown against orders on the customer enquiry and order enquiry screens.
- The product image is now displayed for the selected product in the back-order section of the customer enquiry screen.
- First-time users are now prompted to download either the demonstration data or their own data before continuing normal use of the app.
- Existing users are now prompted to perform a download from their cloud account after installing an app update before they continue normal use of the app. This ensures that any new configuration settings vital to the smooth operation of the app are downloaded.
- The on sales figure for a product can now optionally include sales from live orders residing within Sales Presenter. This gives you a more accurate view of your available stock figure based on orders that you've taken but have yet to export to your cloud account.

- You can now configure, via your cloud account, which product fields are displayed underneath the product thumbnail images on the product browser screen. - An Information button has been added to the download manager screen to show some database statistics that you may find useful.
The configuration section within your Blue Alligator cloud account will shortly be updated to allow you to turn on/off or customise the various new features added in this version. The new settings have been initialised in a way to ensure that the app behaves, by default, in the same manner as previous versions.

It appears that we've left a button on the front screen within Sales Presenter which is labelled Test.
This was a mistake. It is for a feature that didn't quite make it into version 1.1.4 but will be available in the next version (albeit with a proper method of access rather than via a button labelled Test).
If you happen to press this button you will see that your front screen gets reset. In this instance, keep pressing the button (for up to approx 20 times) until your normal front screen returns.

Version 1.1.5 - currently awaiting Apple approval
- Agents feature - this powerful feature allows multiple data sets (companies) to be used in Sales Presenter. This is very useful for Sales Agents who sell on behalf of more than one company. Accessed via a new Companies option on the front screen (this option replaces the Test button that was inadvertently left on the screen by mistake in version 1.1.4).
- A Delete Settings option has been added to the settings screen (accessed via the Download Manager option). This allows the user to remove any additional companies that have been set up when they are no longer required.

Version 1.1.6 - currently awaiting Apple approval
- Family code/catalogue popup lists re-highlight the current selection (if any). This allows for easy navigation through them one at a time.
- Orders can now be copied between customer accounts. Only products that still exist are copied.
- An indicator (white B in a blue circle) is now shown on the product thumbnail and detail screens if a product is already on backorder. Tapping the indicator shows the details of the backorder. This indicator can be turned off via your Blue Alligator cloud account if desired.
- Export order process now copes with the exporting of order lines for products that no longer exist.
- New customer creation. The temporary account code generated by Sales Presenter (based on the date and time) is now correct when using the iPad in 12 hour clock mode.
- New customer creation. You can now configure, via your Blue Alligator cloud account, which fields are required when creating a new customer.
- Images can now be associated with the built-in "latest products" and "clearance products" catalogues.
- The configuration option "Sequence in which to browse products when not using a display sequence for a catalogue" now works within the same sequence number within a catalogue.
- Order validation - the due date for an order can no longer be set to earlier than the order creation date. The cancel date can no longer be set to earlier than the due date.
- Second stock quantity field available for products. This is useful when back-office systems hold figures in more than one place which, when combined, give the overall stock figure.
- A second "free stock" calculated field can now be shown on the product thumbnails and detail screen. You can configure this to show a physical stock figure (i.e. ignoring purchases) if required.
- The "new customer" flag is now removed from a customer account that was originally created on the iPad if that account is subsequently downloaded from the cloud at a later date. By not removing the flag, all subsequent orders raised for that customer were being put on hold in the cloud.
The configuration section of the cloud account will be updated shortly to reflect any new features available in this version.

Version 1.1.8 - currently awaiting Apple approval
So many changes in this update that we couldn't fit all the details in the "Whats new in this release" section of the App Store!
- Minimum system requirement is now iOS version 5.0.
- Catalogues button now appears when you're only using the built-in dynamic catalogues
- Cosmetic change to the catalogue/family code filter screens - now use the Clear option to clear the filter.
- The due/cancel dates and discount recorded against each line of a newly copied order now use the values entered against the new order rather than being copied across from the existing order lines.
- You can now set (via the configuration section of your cloud account) the background colour of the image border on both the product detail and full screen image screens.
- The delivery address name is now shown on the customer enquiry address detail screen.
- Download from Cloud option restructured. Due to changes in the way sales rep restrictions are implemented, the first download you perform with this version may take a while to complete.
- Ability to show a PDF for a product. Useful if you have data sheets to go with a product. The PDF can also be printed (useful at trade shows) or emailed to the customer.
- Ability to show a movie clip for a product (currently only M4V format supported).
- Additional PDF documents can be attached to the order acknowledgement email. Useful if you want to attach Terms & Conditions of Sale to the email.
- Additional action on the order acknowledgement preview screen that allows you to open the order acknowledgement PDF in another app, residing on your device, that supports the importing of PDF documents.
- Additional option on the the order acknowledgement preview screen that allows you to show products either in product code sequence (as before) or in order entry sequence. Orders created in earlier versions of Sales Presenter will always be shown in product code sequence regardless of this setting.
- If an order is being taken by a rep other than the rep assigned to a customer (which often happens at a trade show) then the customers rep is also CC'd on the order acknowledgement email (requires email addresses to be included in the rep data uploaded to your cloud account).
- Passcode field is now protected in the settings screen.
- Filters button added to the customer enquiry screen. This allows you to confine your searches to specific fields (e.g. only search the Post Code field).
- Send Email button added to the customer enquiry screen. This allows you to quickly send an email to the customer.
- Product/Pricing Changes button added to the download manager screen. This shows product additions/deletions and pricing changes performed during an incremental download (i.e. no changes are logged when you first download or force a full download). Information older than 30 days is automatically purged. This option observes any rep restrictions and price scrambling that you have configured so the sales rep will only be able to see changes that they're permitted to see.
- Catalogues no longer appear in the catalogue filter screen if they have no viewable products on them.
- Certain accented characters are now shown correctly within the app.
- Searching for customers or products now copes with symbols such as asterisks and question marks in your data.
- Ability to jump to any page in a catalogue. For catalogues of four pages or more you can hold your finger over the page number information in the bottom-right of the screen until a keypad pops up. Enter the page number you wish to jump to then tap outside the keypad to jump straight to that page.
- When altering the rotation of the device while viewing a catalogue the system will no longer jump back to the first page of the catalogue. Since the number of products per page is different between landscape and portrait mode the page number will change but SP will attempt to track the middle product on the page and show the new page containing that product.
- If using a default price stream for a customer then this is shown on the product thumbnail screen instead of the standard product price. The system can now be configured (via your cloud account) to show (and default to) the clearance price (if present) or last price paid (if available) in preference to the standard/stream price.
- Barcode and UOM fields from the product file can now be shown on the product detail screen.
- The available stock calculation can now be set to in stock only. Previously this could only be set to either stock - sales or (stock + purchases) - sales.
- Blank search threshold warning can now be set to 0 (zero) to turn it off completely.
- Fixed a cosmetic issue when slowing swiping through a catalogue on a retina display.
- Bluetooth barcode scanners now continue to work when going back to the rapid entry screen after switching to another app.
- A lot of groundwork has taken place behind the scenes to support some exciting upcoming developments.

Version 1.1.8 is now available in the iTunes App Store.
As mentioned in the previous post, due to changes in the way the sales rep restrictions are implemented, the first download you perform with this version may take a while to complete. Therefore we recommend that you do not upgrade to this version while you are "on the road" or at a trade show unless you have Wi-fi access as it may eat up your 3G data usage.
We managed to slip a couple more changes to the order acknowledgement configuration into this version:
- Additional product fields (such as extended description, user fields etc...) can now be output on the order acknowledgement.
- The extended description and special instructions fields can now span several lines.

Version 1.1.9 - currently awaiting Apple approval
This is a minor update containing the following fixes/tweaks:
- Delivery name field on the customer enquiry screen is now read-only.
- The "do not sell" indicator is shown correctly on the product thumbnail screen (if configured). You can now customise the text that gets shown for this (defaults to "DO NOT SELL").
- Correct plus/minus images are now shown on the product detail screen when configured to use image set 2.
- Screen no longer left blank at the end of playing a product movie clip in full screen mode under iOS6.
- Shows products with the "full stop/period" character in their product code when selecting a catalogue/family code filter.
- Retrieves customer accounts with the "full stop/period" character in their account code when performing a search.
- Product movie clip file extension support expanded (M4V, MOV, MP4, MPV and 3GP formats supported).
- The product QtyPerCarton, QtyPerInner and QtyPerPack fields can now be displayed on the product detail screen (and product thumbnail).
- You are now asked for confirmation when pressing the "Back" button when in the product enquiry screen. Prevents accidental presses from exiting the enquiry screen.
- The login screen has been revamped. You can now configure, as part of your rep data upload, a password for each sales rep to be used on the login screen - by default (for backward compatibility) all rep passwords are blank. Tapping outside the login screen no longer logs you in - you have to press the login button inside the login screen itself.
- Performance improvement made when resuming an aborted initial download of your data.
The configuration section of the cloud account will be updated in due course to reflect any new features available in this version.

Changes in this version:
- Sales Presenter is now a universal app. You can now run the app on your iPhone or iPod Touch (some functionality may be iPad specific - please follow the link http://www.bacapps.co.uk/spmatrix.php for details).
- SP Controller Mode which allows you to connect (via Bluetooth) Sales Presenter running on your iPad with your iPhone - let the customer browse the catalogue on the iPad while you take their order or view sensitive pricing information on your iPhone. An SP Controller Mode quick start guide can be found in the downloads section of this site.
- The Delete button on the customer enquiry screen is available (for customer records created in Sales Presenter that have no orders attached to them).
- The dynamic Clearance and Latest Products catalogues show their products correctly (fixes a bug introduced into version 1.1.9)
As with all updates we recommend that you do not upgrade while you are on the road or attending a trade show.

Unfortunately we have noted an issue in this version on the customer enquiry screen when using Sales Presenter on the iPad. Pressing the Customers button while in portrait mode exits the app. We are about to submit an update which fixes this. Using the customer enquiry screen on the iPad in landscape mode is ok.

Version 1.2.1 - currently awaiting Apple approval
A minor update containing enhancements to the price list/pricing logic and some fixes.
Enhancements:
- Existing price list field for a customer account is now known as the "secondary" price list field.
- New primary price list field can be uploaded to the cloud or set when adding a new customer account. This field is available in the field mappings section of your cloud account.
- Customer price stream field can be set when adding a new customer account.
- New delivery due date and cancel by date fields are now displayed on the back order detail screen. These fields are available in the field mappings section of your cloud account. Please note: the first download of data you perform with this version may take some time since all your back-order data will be re-downloaded from the cloud to your device.
- Apply discount logic has now been implemented when working with price lists. For backward compatibility, any cloud accounts that have not already mapped this field will have had a default value of Y set instead.
- Pricing logic now attempts to price an item using the new primary price list before moving onto the secondary price list.
Fixes:
- Pressing the Customers button on the customer enquiry screen while in portrait mode on an iPad no longer exits the app.
- SP Controller Mode is now compatible with iOS5.

Enhancements:
- Rapid entry screen on the iPad now shows a scrolling list of lines on the order (in the sequence they were added to the order). Tapping on a line allows you to amend its details.
- Rapid entry screen on the iPad now allows you to toggle between either displaying the product detail screen or adding an item to the order each time you scan/enter a product.
- Login screen on the iPad now only displays the password entry box when your system is configured to use rep passwords.

- Cosmetic issues when running under iOS5.
- Order acknowledgement PDF generation now copes with customer account codes containing slash characters.
- Order acknowledgement PDF generation no longer exits the app when the order is for delivery addresses or products that no longer exist in the database. Previously this caused the app to exit when attempting to preview the order or upload it to the cloud.
- SP Controller mode now displays the correct values in the price selection screen on iPhone/iPod touch devices.
- Secondary price lists are now picked up by the pricing logic when both the primary price list code and customer currency code fields are blank.

Version 1.2.3 - currently awaiting Apple approval
General enhancements:
- Customer enquiry - the field headings for the various balance fields on the balances/info page can now be configured (via your Blue Alligator cloud account).
- Pricing logic - if both a clearance price and a minimum price exist for a product then the minimum price check now works with the lower of the two prices.
- Order entry - the default quantity entry unit can now be configured on a customer by customer basis (setting this up for a customer will override your system-wide default).
- Order entry - you can configure the types of product prices that can be selected by the user.
- Order entry - up to five user-specified "analysis" fields can be recorded against an order.
- Order acknowledgement - columns can now be output for the carton, inner and pack prices for a product. Address number and customer user fields can also be output.
- SP Controller mode - devices no longer go to sleep while using this mode. Please note that this may decrease your battery life.
iPad only enhancements:
- Reports option has been added to the main screen. There are currently two reports available (Order Summary and Backorder Summary).
- Customer enquiry - you can access reports for the currently selected customer from this screen.
- Product browser/order entry - "In stock only" filter has been added to the options popup box. You can now optionally restrict the product searches to products either in or out of stock. For backward compatibility this filter defaults to "Both".
- Order entry - tapping the "Backorder" indicator on a product now shows a list where there are two or more backorder entries. Selecting an entry shows its details. The "next PO due" date is also shown for the product.
- Order entry - a "History" indicator (currently a white "H" in a blue circle) is now displayed on any product that has previously been ordered by the customer. Details of the historical order information can be displayed by tapping the indicator.
- Order entry - products can now be bookmarked for the customer. You can opt to view all products, ordered product or bookmarked products. The bookmark indicator is shown as a yellow square on the product thumbnail. Simply tap the indicator to bookmark/un-bookmark the product. Bookmarks are maintained between visits to the same customer. A bookmark is removed from a product once it is ordered. You can reset all bookmarks for a customer via the options popup box.
Tweaks/Fixes:
- Pricing logic - when using the Blue Alligator cloud configuration setting to treat break discounts on price lists as replacement prices (rather than as discounts), the exchange rate is no longer applied to prices twice.
- Rounding logic - prices, values and volumes are now rounded up and down to the nearest significant digit (according to the number of decimals configured in your cloud account). Previously, figures were always rounded down.
- Memory usage - improvements have been made to reduce the amount of memory the app needs during use (especially when running on an iPhone or iPod touch).
