ProcessFiles takes long time

ProcessFiles takes at least 7 minutes.  Is this normal duration ?

Using HTTPPost and sending xml content it even timeouts.
Using Safari it finished after 7 minutes.

Re: ProcessFiles takes long time

The amount of time that Process Files takes can vary depending on things like the amount of data that has changed since the last time it was performed or the server load at the time.

We are looking into making improvements to the way this process is performed so that pressing the Process Files button or calling the ProcessFiles web service method simply initiates the process rather than waiting for it to finish.

Re: ProcessFiles takes long time

I suppose you agree with me that comparing or inserting 2 of 3 MB of data would normally never take 10 minutes to apply?   I'm I correct that everytime you push the button ALL files are processed again, even if i only changed 1 small file ?

Re: ProcessFiles takes long time

The web service hasn't yet been changed to simply initiate the processing of the files rather than waiting for it to complete.

We are about to put some measures live that will prevent several instances of the process being run against the same cloud account at the same time (our logging shows that at one point this afternoon there were five instances of the process running against your account - these instances would have been fighting each other for control of the data).
